About Carrick Canoe Club

Interested in Joining?

Carrick Canoe Club prides itself on being an informal, friendly club. We extend a warm welcome to prospective new members. This is purely a recreational club, with the main emphasis being on white water paddling. However we also have enthusiastic sea and placid water paddlers in our ranks.

Entry Requirements

a. Minimum age is 12 unless accompanied by an adult, when the minimum age is 8.

b. Must be able to swim one length of the pool (25 metres).

c.  In compliance with child protection legislation, all adult members (over 16 years old) are asked to complete a disclosure Scotland check.

No previous experience is required. It is not necessary to own a kayak/canoe or canoeing equipment. These are available for use by club members, subject to Committee approval.

Newcomers to the sport will be guided by more experienced club paddlers in the pool and on excursions. Members are invited to take part in the Rainbow award scheme which helps them to map their progress in developing their skills.
